The truth is I absolutely love planning 1 year sessions! From colors, to theme and cake each one is customized all the way down to the outfit if you choose! This Cocomelon cake smash was so much fun putting together from making the balloon arch, ordering the character images which were printed then cut out and hunting for the perfect diaper cover and suspenders to match!!!!
I start each cake smash out with portraits not including the cake because lets be real, you never know what will happen when the cake is introduced and I like to play it safe, getting what we need incase your little one doesn’t feel the same way about cake as I do!
It is so much fun watching them try to figure out what exactly is going on, and making that first move…..
Exploring the textures, the first taste and getting comfortable with the fact it’s time to make a mess!

As everyone knows babies are the boss which means we go with the flow and when it’s the end it’s the end. My job is to get amazing images, not send away crying babies so I do just that. I shoot as long as I can but when your little one calls it the end, it’s just that.
My favorite part is the end if we are being real….. I LOVE documenting the MESS at the end, this means one thing…… It was a success!!!! No need to worry about the mess as you’re leaving, if there is a mess I am a happy camper and feel like the mission was accomplished!
